A natural and cheaper alternative to expensive facial and body creams

Face and body creams are not only full of chemicals and endocrine disruptors but they also tend to be quite expensive, especially if you purchase a high quality organic cream to avoid those chemicals…  But there is a very easy and simple solution to those 2 problems: vegetable oils. Adapted to your skin type and skin problem, easy to use, healthier and much more affordable than creams, vegetable oils are simply amazing. Use them on your face, on your body, as well as on your children and babies. They moisturize, hydrate, prevent wrinkles, get rid of dark circles around your eyes, treat dryness, itching, eczema, etc… Try them and you’ll get hooked. As there are thousands of vegetable oils, I have selected a few targeting your skin type and problem. You can use them alone, or mix several together for added benefits.

For normal skin: Macadamia Oil. It gives your skin the ideal hydration, nourishes it thanks to its Omega 7 content, and immediately penetrates your skin without leaving a greasy film on your skin. It can also be used on your hair to strengthen it.

For combination to atopic (intolerant and dry) skin: Sweet Almond Oil. Rich in vitamin A and E, fatty acids, protein, potassium and zinc, it will leave your skin smooth and soft. Thanks to its greasy texture, red spots, rashes, and peeling are all very well treated with sweet almond oil, which soothes itching and restores the skin’s barrier. You can also use it for babies skin and it is the ideal make-up remover. Great for brittle nails as well.

For combination to oily skin: Jojoba Oil. Non greasy, highly hydrating, and quickly absorbed, jojoba oil also rebalances the production of sebum. It can also be used on oily hair to regulate dandruff and oily scalp.

For skin prone to acne: Calendula oil. Non-comedogenic and sebum regulating, rich in antioxidants, this gentle oil is ideal for anyone prone to acne or pimples. Its healing properties make it the ideal oil to treat eczema, dermatitis, diaper rash, insect bites and wounds.

For expression wrinkle areas: Rose hip seed oil.  Rich in vitamin A and C, essential fatty acids and antioxidants, it helps boost collagen formation, protects against sun damage, helps reduce hyperpigmentation, scars and fine lines, and gives elasticity to your skin.

For dark circles around your eyes: Tamanu oil (also called Calophylle). Perfect to get rid of those dark circles around your eyes, as it activates the microcirculation of your skin.

For mature skin: Borage oil. Thanks to its omega 6 contents, it regenerates your skin giving it vitality and flexibility. You can also mix it with argan oil for added benefits.

Before you purchase your vegetable oil, please make sure it is high quality and organic, cold pressed, and 100% pure. Spend more money for better quality, you will save money in the end. Check the ingredient list. The only added ingredient allowed is vitamin E, also called tocopherol. You can also mix several oils together and add a few drops of essential oils for added benefits and a nice scent.

  • a few drops of the vegetable oil of your choice (or a mixture of oils of your choice)

What to do:

  1.  Remove any make-up and cleanse your face thoroughly
  2.  Wet your face with water. Do not dry it.
  3.  Pour a few drops of oil on your hand (3 to 4 drops) and rub your hands together.
  4.  Massage your face moving from the center outward and from the bottom up, emulsifying the oil with the water.
