Relearning about fever

 

In our modern society, fever is considered our enemy. The minute our children have a fever, we give them Tylenol. The second we adults have a fever, we take an aspirin,  paracetamol, or even worse, antibiotics, as if the most important thing was for it to disappear as fast as possible. We chase it away treating it like our enemy. And we need to relearn about that. Fever is not our enemy. Fever is actually our friend. It is telling us that our body is fighting something and we need to let our body deal with the fever and whatever else it is fighting against: infection, virus, bacteria, inflammation, etc. Resorting to an aspirin, paracetamol or Tylenol should not be our first reflex. These medicines only weaken our immune system and hurt our liver and stomach causing much worse consequences. Because a fever is a sign of something else going on, staying home and bed rest is the answer. Seeing your doctor is of course sometimes needed to determine the cause. But it often isn’t. Haven’t we all heard the common “It must be a virus answer of our doctor?

I used to resort to these medicines myself but I have not in years. My children have not swallowed a fever reducer (or antibiotic for that matter) in over 5 years. And yes, like any normal children they have had fevers among the years. But when they have a fever, there are natural ways to reduce it and deal with it, yet letting it do its job. This is the natural and safe procedure we follow to deal with a fever in our home.

What you’ll need and what to do:

  • Peppermint essential oil to reduce the fever

Take 2 to 3 drops of Peppermint Essential oil and mix it with 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil. Rub it on the foot sole. Repeat as necessary, as often as every hour if needed. This will reduce the fever and make you feel better.

  • Belladonna homeopathic globuli to help fight the inflammation/infection

Take 5 Globuli of Belladonna 9CH and let them melt under your tongue. Repeat 3 times per day. Belladonna fights inflammations and viruses.

  • Colloidal silver to reinforce the immune system 

Take 10 drops of colloidal silver in your mouth and keep it in for a few seconds before swallowing it. Repeat 3 times per day. Colloidal silver is a natural antibiotic and also reinforces your immune system.

  • Calcium to reduce the fever

Grind calcium lactate pills and take 1 teaspoon mixed with your favourite drink every 1 to 2 hours. This can be given to children and babies as well. Calcium reduces the fever as it provides our white blood cells with the ‘food’ they need to fight the infection. Calcium does not have any side effects. This method has been commonly used in Chinese medicine for thousands of years.

In Conclusion:

This procedure will help your body deal with the fever as it fights an infection, bacteria, virus, or inflammation. Of course, follow your gut and go see a doctor if you think it is necessary. But do not be afraid of that fever and try to avoid resorting immediately to the common fever reducer medicines. Trust me, these natural remedies combined with bed rest and sleep work like a charm.
